City Net Guide, Buses, Trains and Metro

With the City Net - you'er always close

The City Net is a public transportation network consisting of A-buses, S-trains, trains and the Metro. No matter where in the city you are, or where you want to go, you will never be more than 500 meters away from the closest train, Metro or bus connection. The Greater Copenhagen ares is divided into 95 zones. At bus stops and stations you can find zone maps. When paying fare, check to see how many zones you neea to reach your final destination and select your ticket or card accordingly. A pay for a minimum of two zones and a maximun of nine zons. The same card/ticket is valid travel by bus, train and Metro during the time period and throughout the zones for which the card/ticket is issued.

Types of transportation: A-buses: City buses which run at regular 4-7 minute intervals during business hours. A-buses stop frequently en route. S-buses: Quick and direct buses with few stops en route. Trains: Regional trains and S-trains run according to the timetabels posted at the stations. Scheduales are also available online. Metro: The Metro runs regulary, 24 hours a day, with minimsl waiting time. Next departure and destination are always announced on the platform.

From Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to downtown Copengagen: The Metro drives from the Metro Station in Terminal 3 at the airport. The trip from CPH to e.i. Kongens Nytorv, downtown Copenhagen takes app. 15 minutes. Tickets can be bought at automats at the station or at the DSB train counter in Terminal 3. The trip between the airport and downtown Copenhagen covers 3 zones. The Trains depart from CPH to Copenhagen Central Station every 20 minutes from track 1. Tickets can be bought at DSB train counter in Terminal 3. Taxi (Danish: Taxa) When leaving the customs area in CPH, turn right and go through a rotating door, and you are at the taxi area. An attendant will tell you what taxi to get into. The journey to Copenhagen will cost from app. DKK220 and up depending where you go.

Tickets: Cash ticket: Valid in 2-8 zones, or all zones, according to your needs. 24-hour ticket: Valid in zones 1, 2, 3, and 4. Valid for a 24 or 72-hour period. Flexcard 7-days: Valid for 7 days within the number of zones it's issued. This card can be used by different people.

Cards: 10-clip card: Valid for 10 journeys within the number of zones it is issued for. You save app. 40% compared to regular ticket prices. Personal period-card: Unlimited travel within the number of zones for which the card is issued. Valid for a period of 1 month - 1 year.

Card and ticket outlets: A number of ticket and card types, including the City Pass, can be purchases from machines at train and Metro stations. You can buy all ticket and card types at Movia Card outlets and DSB stations with ticket outlets.

Bring kids for free: Two children under the age of 12 may accompany an adult free af charge, while youths under the age of 16 pay half the price. Two youths between the ages of 12 and 15 may travel togethen on one adult ticket.
